What IP Boot Camp is not.

E-mail Print PDF

Ip Boot Camp is not a place to get copious amounts of information on IP networking, i.e. we won't require you to read a 500 page text book.  Of course, there will be very concise and distilled information, the essence of what you need to know to get through the lab training.  The rest of the information you will require to pass your certifications will come from other sources most of which are free.  The Internet has thousands of sites dedicated to providing free information on any topic in IP Networking you choose.  We will examine some popular sites, the good and the bad.  Each individual has a unique learning style so some sites will work better for some than others.

Ip Boot Camp is focused on the 'hands-on'. Kinda like 'flying' a plane.  You can go on the Internet to find information on how a plane is built and the principles of lift and drag (the Bernoulli principle), but to learn to fly is very hands-on.  IP Networking is the same.  You will discover if you have an interest and an aptitude for IP networking.  But the motivation has to come from within you.  IP Boot Camp will facilitate, mentor and help direct your motivation to acquire new skills, make a career transition, and 'change your life'.  I say that because IP networking has been good to me, the opportunities have literally changed my life.  Plus it's FUN!!

Why VLSM is important?

VLSM is an acronym for 'Variable Length Subnet Mask' and is synonymous with CIDR, 'Classless Inter-Domain Routing'  It allowed the Internet to move away from classful subneting and gain more granular control over the worlds IP space.  Learn more about this important subject under Supporting Documents/Technical.
